Companies Cut from the Same Cloth Bail Up 230 Fifth Avenue – Trade Observer

The leasing business comes and goes 230 Fifth Avenue with retailers and textile manufacturers having recently signed up for show space in the Midtown building.

Based in Georgia Mills of 1888a manufacturer of home and commercial textiles, acquired 7,258 square feet on the sixth floor of the building from the owner GFP Real Estate. GFP did not disclose the term or ask for rent on the space to be rented by the company, which claims to have the largest remaining towel factory in the United States.

This is a move for 1888 Mills, which is leaving its present excavations at 295 Fifth Avenuejust four blocks north.

“230 Fifth Avenue continues to attract New York’s top home design firms,” Jane Gural-Shippers, director of GFP Real Estate, said in a statement. “The building consists of over 200 showrooms and provides the perfect space for companies looking to showcase home textiles, decorative accessories, home furnishings, architectural products, art and Moreover.”

Gural-Sender represented the owner internally while Gregory Albert and Scott Ansel of Savills represented the tenant.

Worth importsdesigner, importer and distributor of seasonal decorations, also signed a 5,352 square foot lease on the 15th floor with Harvey Richer of GFP representing both the tenant and the landlord in a direct lease, the terms of which have not been disclosed.

While taking up space in the showroom, the tenant strictly only wholesales and specializes in Halloween and Christmas themed ornaments.

Also on the 15th floor of 230 Fifth, maker of rugs and home accessories Surya rug took 4,003 square feet. Surya is leaving her current lease at 41 Madison Avenue, according to Savills. The company, which partners with a famous designer Candice Olson as good as Elle Decorwas represented by Albert and Andre Zang of Savills.

Other recent leases in the building include a memory foam mattress and pillow company SC Healthwho signed a 3,989 square foot lease on the 16th floor; Dynamic mats with 2,680 square feet on the fifth floor; Taram Textiles with 1,325 square feet on the 13th floor; and All products for you with 1,080 square feet on the 10th floor.
