Jon Baker of Exeter bought the business in August 2021 from Daryll and Sandy Keller, who had owned it for 26 years. Daryll remains the company’s chief estimator.

Baker, who runs Baker Holdings Corporation, and whose company does property management in multi-residential and commercial properties in Exeter, Clinton, Seaforth and Grand Bend, said he bought Innovative Flooring because it complements to some of the other aspects of real estate. and construction aspects of his business, which he started in 2018, a year before getting his real estate license. In addition to Innovative Flooring at 309 Main Street, Baker houses its offices in an adjoining unit.

Innovative Flooring offers a wide variety of flooring styles including hardwood, vinyl, laminate, carpet and ceramic from leading suppliers, plus a new lighting section, countertops and more . Baker said he tries to provide a one-stop shop for people designing a home and give them as many options as possible.

Baker said he had just under 7,000 square feet at Innovative Flooring and did about $250,000 in renovations to the building, which took about five months. Baker said he wanted to provide customers with a space that was bright and inviting, and had ample room for display options. He also expanded the company’s staff.

He said things have been going great since he bought the business and a grand opening was held in late April for contractors and customers. As reported last week, the company has made donations to the South Huron Hospital Foundation and the Exeter Community Food Bank.

We want to provide them with the absolute highest level of care, so at the end of the day, when their space or renovation is complete, they are nothing but satisfied and they come back to us for the next one.

Baker also expressed his joy that Daryll Keller remained with the company.
