Portuguese shoe brand The choice unveiled a commercial space in the Príncipe Real of Lisbon. Made by a local design studio Holcnerova workshopthe 1,400 square foot store is reminiscent of a gallery with a whitewashed backdrop, custom stone displays and white shelves designed to make shoes appear to levitate.
“The client wanted his open space concept store to function as both an exhibition area and a workspace,” explains Lenka Holcnerova of Atelier Holcnerova. “Our goal was to create a clean-lined yet sophisticated space that would feel timeless and perhaps even spaceless. By stripping down the layers of finishes to the absolute essence of the space and using neutral palettes, the main protagonists are the exhibited products.
A single curtain makes it possible to partition shops and offices without compromising the openness that characterizes the layout. The fresh and contemporary atmosphere also uses recycled elements from the previous tenant, including cork. The texture of cork is still transmitted through a white painted wall.
A pair of bespoke rugs in cloud-like shapes have also been installed to complete the sense of weightlessness evoked throughout the design, while a bespoke table made of white marble and concrete legs serves as a backdrop. central point. Modern seating and a white leather daybed are also featured.
