All winners of the BOAT Design & Innovation Award 2022
The Superyacht Design Festival kicked off with the all-important Design & Innovation Awards. Recognizing the finest feats of superyacht design – including naval architecture, styling and technology – this year’s finalists included winners of the 94-meter World Superyacht Award Long live and sailboat Path. The ceremony also saw this year’s Young Designer of the Year award given to Ignacio Bourgon and the Lifetime Achievement award given to Gerard Dijkstra.

US BOAT International Editor Cécile Gauert moderated a conversation on the future of autonomous boating

Four experts from the world of lighting and design discussed the future of responsive design and art
Conference guests were able to hear and learn from speakers such as world-renowned architect and urban planner Stefano Boeri, yacht designer Giorgio Cassetta and architect Patricia Viel. Aiming to create debate and further discussion, conference topics included whether superyachts will ever be able to operate without fossil fuels and the role space tourism will play for UHNWIs. Panelists were seated in brightly patterned bucket chairs provided by the Dolce and Gabbana Home Collection.

After the first day of the conference, the social program continued with the Social Festival, held in the flagship store of interior design studio Visionnaire. In addition to admiring the brand’s unique designs and collections, guests were treated to cocktails, canapes and a live DJ.

To mark the end of the Superyacht Design Festival, Triton Chairman Patrick Lahey revealed designer Michel Dragoni as the winner of the Triton Submarine’s Design Challenge.

A new addition to the Superyacht Design Festival was the Designer Gallery in the mall, where the 2022 event partners were on display for guests. Here, participants could network in the specially organized space between the round tables.
